Duke Robillard, Charlie Musselwhite and Muddy Waters Score Handy Awards

The W C Handy Awards, the Blues' equivalent to a Grammy, were held May 25 and three Rosebud Artists came up winners. Duke Robillard won Blues Instrumentalist of The Year - Guitar. Charlie Musselwhite won Blues Instrumentalist Of The Year - Harmonica - for the 8th time! Traditional Blues Album of the Year was awarded to the late Muddy Waters for his CD, "The Lost Tapes of Muddy Waters". Muddy was a Rosebud artist throughout his final touring years.


Loudon Wainwright III To Appear On Conan O'Brien June 6

Loudon Wainwright III will perform on The Conan O'Brien show on June 6. Loudon can be seen in the new Sandra Bullock film, 28 Days. Four of Loudon's songs are used in the movie with Loudon performing two of them onscreen. All four songs also appear on the soundtrack CD. The best of Loudon's BBC Sessions has also been made available recently on Fuel 2000 Records.


The Dirty Dozen Brass Band Join Widespread Panic On Record

The new Widespread Panic live CD, Another Joyous Occasion, just released May 23 prominently features The Dirty Dozen Brass Band on the cover and throughout the tracks. Our Thanks to all involved with Widspread Panic for generously sharing the spotlight with The Dozen on this great new project.


Charlie Watts / Jim Keltner CD Just Out

Charlie Watts, drummer for the "World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band", is back with another great side project. Charlie teams with another legendary drummer, Jim Keltner, for an incredibly creative and adventurous tribute to jazz drumming royalty entitled simply Charlie Watts / Jim Keltner Project. This CD is full of great musical surprises and is, itself, a tribute to the two master drummers who created the record.

String wizard David Lindley is featured on the cover of the June 2000 Acoustic Guitar Magazine. His extensive feature and interview cover a full seven pages, plus two and a half pages on his "Mercury Blues", and a page on his classic Gibson F-4 Mandolin (ca. 1904).
