Friends and fans are already stepping forward to assist us in establishing a Medical Fund. The Bayfront Blues Festival, Pocono Blues Festival, and Berrian Springs "Evening With the Blues," in conjunction with Mojo Magazine, will be selling Luther's merchandise during their festivities, with 100% of the profits being directed to the Fund. In addition, "Evening With the Blues" has graciously offered to donate a percentage of their profits to assist with this effort.

Luther started radiation therapy yesterday and is feeling good. This line of therapy will continue into the first week of August.

All updates regarding Luther will be posted immediately to the Blue Sky Artist Management Web Site. Please bookmark our web address in your browser for future reference:

Official Luther Allison Update
August 7, 1997
Howell Productions, Inc.
on behalf of Rocky Brown

To Luther's friends, fans, and family:

Luther has received a total of ten full-cranium and one focused radiation treatments at Southern Wisconsin Radiation Center in Madison.

On Friday, July 25th, he experienced double vision, followed by rolling vision. A CTscan showed positive response to the radiation, reducing both the tumor size and edema. Unfortunately, the rolling vision continued. Luther described it "like a broken slot machine where the cherries keep spinning."

Results of routine blood tests and x-rays showed a drastic reduction of sodium. He was admitted to the University of Wisconsin Hospital on Wednesday, July 30th, to facilitate in correcting the sodium levels. Unfortunately, the advanced cancer is producing Anti-Diuretic Hormone Syndrome, which doesn't allow his body to absorb sodium.

He is sleeping comfortably. The doctors assure us he is not in pain, nor do they expect him to experience any pain.

Luther wants all of you to know that all the love and well wishes are appreciated. He wants everyone to carry on, to be happy, to love one another, and to try to make this a better world.

He loves each and every one of you.

Love,
Rocky
