Loudon Wainwright III set as performer/emcee on Newport Folk Festival tour

Loudon Wainwright III will be featured not only as a performer but as an emcee on select shows on the Newport Folk Festival Tour. On select dates, Loudon will perform between sets of the final artists as will as handling standard emcee duties. Overall, Loudon will perform as part of the festival in the following markets:

Loudon Wainwright III joinsLucinda Williams in a taping of Austin City Limits in late July. Inspired by Austin, Texas' burgeoning live music scene in the early '70s, Austin City Limits has featured more than 500 different regional and internationally acclaimed artists on its stage over the years. From B.B. King and Bob Wills' Texas Playboys to Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ray Charles and Leonard Cohen, each new season presents some of the best original music in every music genre. Its ability to consistently present an amiable mix of musical styles makes it a standout among television music programs. The show airs on PBS nationwide. Loudon appeared on Austin City Limits last in 1988.


John Hammond featured on House of Blues Tour October 10-24

John Hammond is featured on the House of Blues Tour October 10-24. Others performing during this segment include The Blind Boys of Alabama, Booker T. Jones and Billy Boy Arnold. The tour is a "musical journey" that follows the progression of the Blues along Highway 61 from it's origins in the South - with gospel and Delta blues - through Memphis Soul and ending in Chicago with it's rockin' style of electric blues.


John Hammond featured on Summer/Fall shows with Bonnie Raitt, The Allman Brothers, The Robert Cray Band and G. Love

On the heels of a series of dates supporting Bonnie Raitt in the Midwest, John Hammond is set to open for the Allman Brothers in Minneapolis on the 12th of August, and at Colorado's famed Red Rocks on the 14th and 15th of August. In September, John joinsG. Love for a co-headline tour of dates in the Southeast. Hammond also joins The Robert Cray Band at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT on August 16, as well as at Atlantic City's Trump's Marina Hotel Casino on the August 17.


John Hammond featured on B.B. King Tour November 3-12

John Hammond and B.B. King, who have shared bills scores of times over the years, play one of their longest runs together in November as Hammond supports nine dates from the Southeast through the Midwest. John is touring in support of his new Virgin/Pointblank CD, Long As I Have You.


John Lee Hooker's 1st Canadian date in almost five years an advance sellout

After performing as co-headliner with The Robert Cray Band July 11 at The Pier in Seattle, Hooker travels North to Canada for the first time in nearly five years. The July 13 date at The Rage in Vancouver sold out quickly as Hooker makes this rare appearance outside the United States. The Dirty Dozen is set to open the show. Hooker has gone into semi-retirement with regard to touring but you'll be hearing more from him soon. His newest CD, The Best of Friends, is set for release October 20.
