Booker T. Jones opened the 7th annual Jammy Awards at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday evening (May 7, 2008) with a roaring rendition of Gold Dust Woman and Take Me To the River joined by Warren Haynes, Grace Potter, Will Lee and Joe Russo. Later in the ceremony Booker joined Galactic onstage for the Booker T. & the MGs classic Hip Hug Her and the Booker penned Born Under A Bad Sign with Sharon Jones and Chali 2NA on vocals. The Jammys celebrates the best in improvisational music. Booker T. Booker T. Jones is featured on the soundtrack CD to the new movie "Be Kind Rewind" starring Mos Def, Jack Black, Danny Glover and directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) . The soundtrack is out now on Lakeshore Records and also includes music from Mos Def, Jack Black, Fats Waller and Billy Preston. Booker performs on three tracks on the soundtrack including "I Ain't Got Nobody", "Lulu's Back in Town" and "Sunny Monday" with fellow MG's Steve Cropper and Donald 'Duck' Dunn.
