Described as 'James Brown does gospel', The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as true living legends of Gospel music. Celebrated by both The Recording Academy (the Grammys) and The National Endowment for the Arts with Lifetime Achievement Awards, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and winners of five Grammy Awards, they have attained the highest levels of recognition for a career that spans over 60 years and shows no signs of diminishing. The Blind Boys of Alabama are set to release I'll Find A Way, produced by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, on October 1, 2013. The album is yet another musical adventure for the Blind Boys, and features a cast of special guests such as Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards, and Patty Griffin as well as Vernon.
Based on the 2003 Grammy-winning CD of the same name, the Go Tell It On The Mountain tour features The Blind Boys of Alabama in a joyful holiday concert, performing traditional holiday songs and seasonal standards. The CD has sold over 200,000 copies and this annual tour has become a popular holiday event since its 2003 debut. It has inspired and uplifted audiences of all ages at such prestigious venues as Washington DC's Lisner Audi- torium, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Atlanta's Symphony Hall and Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.
