THANKS FOR THE JOY
featuring RUTHIE FOSTER & ERIC BIBB

Thanks for The Joy featuring Ruthie Foster and Eric Bibb
Ruthie Foster and Eric Bibb have forged a compelling path for the next generation of songwriting blues and soul artists. Performing on their own and together, the tour title, Thanks for the Joy, is drawn from a song written by Eric. Ruthie performed the song on her 2009 release, The Truth According to Ruthie Foster, which hit #1 on the Roots Blues chart. Ruthie's blend of gospel, blues, folk and soul has drawn comparisons to Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Tracy Chapman and Joan Armatrading. Ruthie's recent fast track growth now sees her schedule filled with worldwide touring in her own concerts, featured at the world's most prestigious festivals, and in collaborations with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Warren Haynes, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Derek Trucks.

In the words of "House of Blues Radio Hour" host Elwood Blues (Dan Ackroyd), "You are what the blues in the new century should be about." Eric's new album, Booker's Guitar, inspired by the instrument played by Booker White, will be released in early 2010. It continues Eric's approach to bridging old blues forms with twenty-first century sensibility, including a positive message of reconciliation in today's troubled world. From a childhood surrounded by his father's legendary associates including Pete Seeger, Paul Robeson (his godfather) and Odetta, Eric has built his own loyal following performing at major festivals in North America, Europe and Australia and in concert with Robert Cray, John Mayall, Robben Ford and Ray Charles.

*Booked as a joint project between The Rosebud Agency and Folklore Productions International.
