more about Punch Brothers

Mutual admirers, Punch Brothers and Loudon Wainwright III are collaborating on tour dates in the 2011-2012 season.

Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile have combined five singular abilities into one musical force and established their place among the most dynamic and talented presences in contemporary music making as recording artists, composers, technicians and stylists. Punch Brothers are nominated for two 2011 Grammy Awards: Best Country Collaboration ("Pride" with Dierks Bentley and Del McCoury) and Best Country Instrumental Performance ("New Chance Blues").

Perennially hailed as one of America's most brutally honest and alternately most hilarious songwriters, Loudon Wainwright III's latest project, High, Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project was declared the Best Album of the Year by Ken Tucker of NPR's Fresh Air and Entertainment Weekly and earned Loudon his first Grammy Win in 2010 (of 3 nominations to date) for Best Traditional Folk Album. According to The New York Times: "Mr. Wainwright wrings more human truth out of his contradiction than any other songwriter of his generation."
