Rosebud founder, Mike Kappus, was honored with the President’s award at the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards (WAMIs). The awards took place on April 29, 2002 at the Northern Lights Theatre in Milwaukee. Kappus is a native of Eau Claire, WI and lived in Milwaukee from 1971 to 1976 working simultaneously as an agent, manager, and talent buyer for, among others, Teddy’s, the city’s first showcase club for national talent with a focus on jazz and blues. Kappus moved to San Francisco in 1976 and, started the Rosebud Agency just a few months later.
