Carrie Rodriguez Joins Jeff Bridges' Band For Performances On The Today Show, The Colbert Report, Live! With Regis & Kelly And More
Carrie Rodriguez joined Jeff Bridges as a member of his band (playing fiddle and singing) for performances on the Today show, The Colbert Report, Live! With Regis & Kelly, a taping for Austin City Limits, a three song performance at Rolling Stone magazine's offices and shows in Colorado and South Dakota. Carrie will be playing additional dates with the band August 24 in San Rafael, CA, August 26 in Saratoga, CA and August 28 in Woodinville, WA. Carrie was asked to join the band during Jeff Bridges' dates in support of his new self-titled album.
Marcia was recently awarded Living Blues Awards for both Blues Artist of the Year (Female) and Most Outstanding Musician (Keyboard). She was honored with wins in both these categories in 2009 and in the Outstanding Musician category in 2007 and 2008.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue performed on Conan Monday, August 15, 2011. The show aired on TBS at 11pm/10pm Central. The band played "Do To Me," the lead track from their forthcoming album, For True (out September 13 on Verve Forecast). The album version of "Do To Me" features a special guest appearance by Jeff Beck on guitar (now available on iTunes). Other featured guests on For True include Kid Rock, Ledisi, Warren Haynes, Ivan And Cyril Neville, The Rebirth Brass Band, 5th Ward Weebie and more.

Pieta Brown's New Album Mercury Out September 27, 2011 - Title Track Out Now
Pieta Brown's new album, Mercury, will be released September 27, 2011. The title track has just been released digitally. Mark Knopfler is a featured guest on the album, playing guitar on "So Many Miles." Mark said, "When Pieta sings you're aware of something effortless and natural, like rain on earth." Pieta toured extensively with Mark last year across North America, where she met many of the musicians who play on the album. Following the tour, they invited her to join them in Tennessee, where they recorded the whole album in the country west of Nashville. In addition to her long-time collaborator Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown), Pieta is joined by great session players including Grammy-winning producer/ multi-instrumentalist Richard Bennett (Mark Knopfler, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris), bassist Glenn Worf (Mark Knopfler, Aaron Neville, Tammy Wynette), drummer Chad Cromwell (Neil Young, Mark Knopfler) and multi-instrumentalist David Mansfield (Bob Dylan, T-Bone Burnett, Johnny Cash).
