JANUARY 2012: Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue Ring In The New Year With Two Sold Out Shows At San Francisco's Legendary Fillmore Auditorium
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue rang in the New Year with sold out shows in Aspen, Denver (two nights) and a two night blow out at San Francisco's legendary Fillmore on December 30th and 31st. On New Year's Eve, the band was joined onstage by the one-and-only Wavy Gravy as Father Time, as a huge gumbo pot bubbled over yielding about 20 trombone-wielding women who went on to create a chorus line across the stage. Following the ladies, Baby New Year emerged (an actual baby) followed by Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews climbing out of the giant Gumbo Pot to lead a countdown followed by confetti cannons, mirror balls, a massive balloon drop and special lighting throughout the venue as the band kicked off the year with a jam of the traditional "Auld Lang Syne."
Happy New Year everyone!
