 John Lee Hooker Dates Postponed John Lee Hooker's doctors have found a vascular condition that may require surgery and will require Mr. Hooker to cancel at least the next two months of engagements through mid - June. Mr. Hooker is otherwise doing fine and hopes to return to a healthy touring schedule this Summer. Muddy Waters' "Rollin Stone" honored by Grammys The Muddy Waters classic, "Rollin Stone" was honored by induction into the Grammys Hall of Fame this year. The Rolling Stones and Rolling Stone magazine both used the song as inspiration in naming themselves. Muddy Waters was a Rosebud artist for the final and most successful touring years of his career. Duke Robillard Honored As One Of World's Most Diverse Guitarists Duke Robillard was named in Guitar One Magazine's (May 2000 issue) reader's poll as #2 Most Diverse Guitarist stating that "Robillard's style boasts an impressive potpourri of jazz, blues, swing and rock". Proving the point is the fact that Duke is currently nominated for three W.C. Handy Blues Awards while his current release, Conversations in Swing Guitar, is with Jazz Legend Herb Ellis. Loudon Wainwright III - The BBC Sessions - Now Available In The US Loudon Wainwright III's BBC Sessions, originally released on Strange Fruit Records in the UK in 1998 has just been made available in the US via Fuel 2000 Records. The CD is a compilation of 21 of Loudon's best performances on BBC radio culled over 25 + years of visits to their studios. Loudon is, of course, on screen acting and singing in the new Sandra Bullock hit film, 28 Days. Loudon's four songs featured in that film will be available on the 28 Days soundtrack, due out May 16. Loudon Wainwright III Onscreen In Sandra Bullock's New Film 28 Days Loudon Wainwright III performs two songs onscreen and two others are in the soundtrack of Columbia Pictures' 28 Days, starring Sandra Bullock and directed by Betty Thomas. Loudon acts in the movie as a resident known as "Guitar Guy" at the rehab center where Sandra Bullock is sentenced to spend 28 Days.
