Charlie Watts And The Tentet’s New Live CD, Watts At Scott’s, is set for August 24 release. Charlie Watts’ Tentet features some of the UK’s finest musicians and they are captured here on a sparkling two disc set from a run of dates at London’s legendary, Ronnie Scott’s. Featured songs include a diverse collection of compositions from the likes of Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk to originals from the Tentet themselves including Gerard Presencer's take on the Glimmer Twins in "Faction", to two tracks culled from the eclectic Watts / Keltner Project. Mavis Staples Set to Release First Solo CD in 10 Years & More Fresh off her performance at the Democratic National Convention Mavis Staples is set to release her first solo CD in 10 years, "Have A Little Faith", on August 17. In conjunction with the CD release is the release of two milestone concert films on DVD in which Mavis is featured -- "Soul To Soul" (in stores August 24) and "Wattstax" (in stores September 7). Mavis is also featured in the upcoming Martin Scorsese film "Lightning in a Bottle" which sees theatrical release on October 15. Look for increased media exposure for Mavis in the coming weeks as she is set to appear on several national TV & radio programs including NPR's All Things Considered (August 16), CNN/fn The Biz (August 18), World Café (August 26) and many more to be announced.
