Blind Boys "Spirit" Scores Grammy Win The Blind Boys of Alabama featuring Clarence Fountain won this year's Grammy for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album for their acclaimed Spirit Of The Century CD. Congratulations also to Rosebud artists John Hammond, David Lindley, and Charlie Musselwhite who played on the CD as well as Rosebud agent Chris Goldsmith who conceived the project and acted as executive producer. The Blind Boys of Alabama perform at White House - Airs On PAX In March The Blind Boys of Alabama featuring Clarence Fountain performed at the White House on February 14. The concert was hosted by CeCe Winans and Michael W. Smith and also features performances from fellow gospel artists Shirley Caesar, Gaither Vocal Band, Jump5, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jaci Velasquez, Twila Paris, and Yolanda Adams. A one hour version of the concert will air on PAX TV March 5 at 5 and 8 pm ET followed by a two hour presentation on March at 10pm ET. Rosebud Welcomes Award Winning Guitarist, Adrian Legg and agent Brad Stewart Adrian Legg joins the Rosebud roster as his manager, Brad Stewart, joins us as West Coast agent. Brad comes from nine years as an agent at Absolute Artists. Adrian was voted "Best Fingerstylist" four years straight by the readers of Guitar Player magazine. Each of his 1992 and 1993 releases were named "Best Acoustic Album" as well as his 1994 release, Wine, Women, and Waltz being named "Best Overall Guitar Album" in the Guitar Player polls and "Best Overall Guitar Album" in Britain's Guitarist magazine, a rare feat for a solo guitarist. Adrian also has a reputation for being one of the funniest instrumentalists around. His deadpan humor and hilarious stories have been as much of a concert draw for him as his music and helped him become a commentator-at-large for NPR's All Things Considered. Adrian has toured with Nanci Griffith, Tanita Tikaram, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai. Duke Robillard Wins Maple Blues Award for Best International Artist Duke Robillard won The Maple Blues Award for Best International Artist of the year on January 29. The annual awards, held in Toronto, honor Canadian blues artists except, of course, for this one award to the best international artist. Duke continues to rack up blues credits in the US as well as he was once again nominated for a W. C. Handy award for Best Blues Guitarist. Duke has won that award the past two years in a row.
