Bettye LaVette is rapidly making her mark as one of the greatest soul singers ever. CNN states that of the "living singers who are actively releasing music now, there is no one more soulful than Bettye LaVette." Performances broadcast this past year alone include her standout version of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me" at The Kennedy Center Honors, her duet with Jon Bon Jovi on "A Change is Gonna Come" at President Obama's "We Are One" Inaugural Celebration, and appearances on The Tonight Show and on CBS's The Late Show With Craig Ferguson. Bettye also shared the mic with Paul McCartney and sang two songs with Moby at a David Lynch benefit event at Radio City Music Hall. A new CD on Anti is planned for the first half of 2010 and follows her Grammy nominated CD The Scene of the Crime and her current digital EP A Change is Gonna Come Sessions. |
