One of the most sought-after guitar voices in modern music, Bill Frisell is a revered musician and Grammy winner (and nominee again in 2009) who has collaborated with artists as diverse as Elvis Costello, Bono, T-Bone Burnett, McCoy Tyner and Paul Simon - a testament to his virtuosity as a guitarist, bandleader and composer. Bill is an eight-time winner of Best Guitarist in the Downbeat Critics Poll (including the current 2009 poll) and is a three-time Downbeat Readers Poll winner for Best Guitarist. The Houston Chronicle gives his latest CD, Disfarmer (July 2009), a perfect four stars, calling it "a particularly beautiful suite of music".
