Booker T. Jones on tour with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young / Neil Young
May 2002, Rosebud News

Booker T. Jones performed in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s band for their recently completed “Tour of America”. Joining Booker in the band was fellow MG’s bandmate, Donald “Duck” Dunn. Booker and Duck also recorded with Neil Young on his newly released CD, “Are You Passionate?” and are currently on tour with Neil in Europe.

(from CDNow) ...Though it started life as a Crazy Horse album -- and retains one track from those sessions, the tomahawk-chopping "Goin' Home" -- the final version of Are You Passionate? is informed by players like Stax organist Booker T. Jones and his MG's bandmates Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass and Steve Potts on drums. (Crazy Horse guitarist Frank "Pancho" Sampedro is also on hand for the whole album.)

The rest of the album has a relaxed, soulful kind of groove, from the direct Stax rhythm lifts of "You're My Girl," "Differently," and "Be With You" to the subtle textures of "She's a Healer," "Mr. Disappointment," and "Two Old Friends." Even "Let's Roll," Young's highly publicized paean to the heroic September 11 passengers on Flight 93, has a kind of chug that's made funkier by this particular rhythm section than it probably would have been in the hands of other players.
