The Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band bring the raw energy of Southwest Louisiana's dancehalls to the stage, playing traditional Cajun music with passion and a warm, front-porch congeniality. Savoy-Doucet is Michael Doucet, leader of Grammy winners BeauSoleil and one of the best known Cajun musicians in the world today, plus Marc and Ann Savoy. Ann Savoy is a Grammy nominated artist, both as producer and musician. Ann produced the widely acclaimed and Grammy nominated tribute to Cajun music, "Evangeline Made," which features pop and folk idols such as Linda Ronstadt, John Fogerty and Richard Thompson. Her collaboration with Linda Ronstadt, "Adieu False Heart," was also a 2006 Grammy nominated effort. Along with Doucet, Marc Savoy is also a National Heritage Fellow, the country's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts as recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts. Together since 1977, the group has performed at such major venues and events as The Newport Folk Festival, The Berlin Jazz Festival and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Savoy-Doucet concerts are rare events, each representing a great opportunity to experience the history, the heart and the soul of Cajun music performed by, as The Glasgow Herald proclaimed, "... a trio just bursting with riches...".
